17 Design feedback techniques

that influence others and win meetings

(ZURB)

The Problem: ZURB needed leads for its then-new Design Feedback Online Course, which Ryan also helped create.

The Solution: Write an entertaining yet authoritative piece unlike any other dry, dull article on the subject.

The Result: Signups went up and contributed to the Design Feedback Online Course being one of the most popular courses ZURB taught.

EBooks (UXPIN)

Four UXPin ebooks Ryan co-authored.

The Problem: UXPin wanted to gather Enterprise leads for their sales department.

The Solution: Write several ebooks on subjects that would appeal to designers at various Enterprise companies in a variety of industries, ranging from Tech to automotive. Ryan along with the editorial team oversaw freelancers with subject matter expertise. He is listed as a co-author on several publications. He also worked with Marketing Tech to see that the leads would be properly filtered and sent to sales.

The Result: UXPin’s ebook downloads was in the hundreds and garnered thousands upon thousands of viable leads.

GUIDES (HELIO)

Helio's Brand Experience Guide

Helio uses a space exploration theme throughout its marketing site, including its content pages.

The Problem: Helio wanted to attract more potential users to its marketing page and increase conversions to its design feedback tool.

The Solution: Helio enlisted Ryan’s help to jump start their content marketing at the height of the pandemic. Having worked with its CEO previously, he was specifically sought for his ability to write entertaining, out-of-the-box content.

The Result: The Guides, especially the one on Positioning Statement, are some of most highly trafficked content on the Helio website.

Branding

UXPin redesigned

The Problem: UXPin wanted to announce its then-new redesign.

The Solution: Working with a videographer, editor, PPC ad specialists, and the entire marketing team, Ryan crafted an entire outbound marketing campaign that included videos, articles, and PPC ads.

The Result: During the first few weeks of launch, the videos attracted thousands of potential leads for the new redesigned UXPin.

Jarek, one of UXPin’s engineers, tells you how math served as the foundation for what’s under the hood of the redesigned UXPin as part of the outbound campaign.
